Park Synagogue's Youth programs offer a wide variety of social, cultural, and recreational activities for Jewish children in grades 3-12. Our objective is to provide young people with an opportunity to meet for enjoyable activities while learning more about our Jewish heritage. Programs are designed to develop a social consciousness through participation in social action projects within the community. We believe that strong youth programming is an important supplement to a formal Jewish education and helps to establish lifelong Jewish involvement.

Our Youth program is divided into three autonomous groups: Jr. Kadima (grades 3-5), Kadima (grades 6-8), and United Synagogue Youth, commonly referred to as USY, serves grades 9-12. Each of our youth groups holds an activity each month. Our Kadima and USY chapters are nationally affiliated, making it possible for our young people to attend various regional and national functions.

Thanks for a great year - see you in the fall!

Jr. Kadima

Junior Kadimaniks meet monthly and participate in different programs. They painted Latka plates at Hands on Pottery for Chanukah and for Purim they baked Hamantashen. Some of the fun trips they have been on recently are to the Circus and the Cleveland Zoo & Rainforest.

Kadima
Kadima is the middle school age affiliate of United Synagogue Youth and The United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism. Kadima is Hebrew for "forward." Kadima events are both philanthropic and social in nature and are usually held once a month. Past Kadima events include rock-n-bowl, skiing at Brandywine, visiting the Hebrew Shelter Home, spending time with residents of Menorah Park, rollerskating, and Kadima Kinnus. Once a year, Kadimaniks convene at a weekend long convention called Kadima Kinnus. Children from Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky, West Virginia and Western Pennsylvania gather for a weekend of fun, friendship and Judaism.

United Synagogue Youth
Our Park USY Chapter is part of a larger region called CRUSY (Central Region United Synagogue Youth.) Park USY has held many fun-filled social events such as Paintball, Casino Night, Tobogganing, and an 8th Grade Kidnap as well as meaningful social action events such as delivering Teddy Bears to Rainbow & Babies Children’s Hospital and Making Blankets for the families at Ronald McDonald House. We also hosted a regional event with over 150 teenagers from our 6-state region. Our Park USY members are a great group of teens who would love to help you get involved an share the fun.
